CyndiPottery_400Start your evening at C2C Gallery, where you can listen to live music; plus view artwork and meet the featured artist. Many First Fridays, you will see Cyndi Casemier, the owner and a potter, throwing on her potter’s wheel.

Featured Artist, Cindy Bender, Michigan Watercolor Painter at C2C Gallery
Cindy says, “While the distractions of modern life are powerful and numerous, our world is still an enchanted place and we live enchanted lives. There is beauty everywhere I look and I realize that I have been called to celebrate that beauty. I like the challenge of painting new subject matter, so I don’t limit what kinds of subjects I paint. I stay fresh by painting trees, sunsets, snow, children, rusty cars, old boats, buildings, food, Adirondack chairs, birds, and more. Clients are drawn to my use of bright colors, light and shadow and realistic style.”

Cindy M Bender lives in Zeeland, Michigan. She has participated in many juried art competitions and exhibits including the Michigan Watercolor Society, Muskegon Regional, First Church spiritual show in Grand Rapids, Grand Haven winter show, the Holland Regional and MI Arts shows.

Live Music by Bill Ellingboe, a songwriter and musician from Michigan. He attended Notre Dame and formed a band there while attending college. After graduating, he spent time in the Air Force; lived out west; and fell in love with Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, Steve Earle and John Prine. In 2009, he moved back to Michigan, keeping a busy schedule playing music locally.

Last year, a community First Friday Art Hop was organized. Five other locations host either music and/or artists: The Creative Fringe; Gallery Uptown; The Armory; The Theater Bar; and Carlin & Company. For more information go to http://www.c2cgallery or call 616-935-7337.

Live Music will be provided by Nick Kraus & Miss Kathleen. They offer an acoustic blend of alt-country, rock, blues, Jazz and folk. In other words, all things Americana. Nick’s lead vocals are backed by the sweet harmonies of wife Kathleen, creating a sound that is both unique and yet subtly reminiscent of the glory days of Johnny Cash and June Carter. Nick plays guitar and piano while Miss Kathleen plays a variety of instruments, including guitar, bass, and banjo. Their sets include a mix of originals, old time standards and tunes by the Beatles, CCR, Steve Earle, Willie Nelson, Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Hank Williams and Neil Young to name a few.
