Diane Niehof, ceramics

Raku is an ancient technique used to ‘fire’ clay to create artwork.  The word Raku means ‘comfort’, ‘enjoyment’ and ‘ease’, and this technique creates iridescent and metallic colors.
Diane creates one of a kind statement pieces.  She evokes movement in a static artwork.  Whether a wall-hanging or a vessel, each piece creates a sense of movement to he eye.  While Diane follows the centuries old techniques of the Japanese creators, she also adds modern adaptations to create stunning examples of Raku.
Her pieces are bold and colorful, and will add to your home, office or cottage.
