Mike Taylor, ceramics

Mike is a West Michigan gem.  He uses the surroundings and pieces found on our beautiful beaches as inspiration for his work.  An avid kayaker, he often incorporates unusual driftwood into his pieces.  The colors and style really evoke the beauty of our natural surroundings on the lakeshore.
Several ceramic techniques can be seen in his work.  He uses a potters wheel to create many of his vessels and hand-builds others.  His creative use of the wood ash incorporated into his ceramic work, and a variety of firing techniques, offer you many choices from the same artist.  His inspiration is Asian but his interpretation is all Mike Taylor.  His work can be used everyday or can enhance your space purely as art.
