Product Description

Blanketed in Bamboo

Haleakala is the world’s largest dormant volcano forming 75% of the island of Maui. The volcano has been in a non-eruptive phase for several hundred years. Its summit rises more than 10,000 feet above sea level. The volcanic area became a Hawaiian Park in 1912 and a National Park in 1961. The depicted bamboo forest surrounds more than one mile of the Pipiwai Trail, which is only accessible from a remote section of the Road to Hana. We found the bamboo’s percussive sound in the wind to be awe-inspiring.
