Sundown in Valley of the Rocks

Product Description

Sundown in Valley of the Rocks

After weather altered our itinerary, Liz and I barely made it to Monument Valley. This image was taken at twilight approximately 15 miles north of the Arizona-Utah border along U.S.-163. The pictured sandstone buttes rise up to 1,000 feet off the Colorado Plateau and contain hues of red and blue. The rock formations are situated within the 91,000 acres that comprise Navajo Nation. The area is known to American Navajos as “Valley of the Rocks.”
