More than six years ago, I treated myself to an Italian ceramic course.  I made the arrangements traveling there on my own.  I was introduced to a Seattle potter, Vicki Hamilton, who would meet me in the Florence Italy airport.  She spoke Italian. She made my introduction to Italy so much easier and fun.  This was the beginning of a wonderful friendship with several fellow potters.  One of the women is Bev Norton Walker.  Bev lives in Arkansas but was raised in Michigan.  I discovered that I had drooled over her large platters for several years and knew her clay work.  Bev hand builds functional and non-functional work.  She spends months creating a new body of work and glazes that she sprays over the surfaces of her pots enhancing the details of each piece.  Then, she hosts a wonderful weekend sale at her studio and begins again.
