A Bowl A Day – Organic Bowls with Michael Imes
Michael Imes likes to work in stoneware clay because he feels it gives his work a more geological connection to the world. He is taking clay from the earth, molding it into something useful; firing it to expand the lifeline of the pot. This artist prefers to use the pinching method. Michael feels that it connects him more closely to the clay. His ceramic work always begs to be touched. It is always very organic. When looking at any of this pottery, you can’t help but take time to really consider each form.
