A Bowl A Day – Texture, Lines, History – Mary Barringer

Mary Barringer ceramic bowl

Several years ago, I decided that Mother’s Day should be about what I wanted to do.  I have traveled across the country to take workshops on this special weekend, much to the dismay of my family.  Two years ago, I headed to Minneapolis with the idea of spending the day wandering the St. Croix Pottery Studio Sale and visit my oldest son and wife.  I have been drooling over Mary Barringer’s work for a long time and had seen that she would be one of the ceramic artists at this show.  This pot is now in my collection of art.  I love the texture and forms that Mary creates.  The bonus was meeting her and getting a chance to talk for about a half hour.
