Covid Day 6 – What are you reading? Fortune Cookies, anyone?

It’s Sunday morning and my day to read the paper.  I like the Sunday New York Times.  Sometimes, I read it voraciously and other weeks,  I take 6 days to read it, section by section.  This week, Frances Mayes wrote about John Keats.  He sailed to Naples and quarantined in the bay for 10 days.  Did you know that the word “quarantine” comes from the latin phrase, “quaranta giorini” (40 days)?

Are you dreaming at night?  I am having strange dreams.  Truthfully, I have strange dreams all of the time.  I think it’s my brain’s way of processing the day.  We have been vacating our gallery in downtown Grand Haven.  It has been a daunting task.  As I box and organized artwork, I found a box filled with my ceramic fortune cookies.  Also, takeout boxes.  For years, my customers have given these fortune cookies to friends celebrating “big” birthdays; used them for dinner parties; chopstick rests; sending checks to grandchildren for graduations; a message for Christmas stockings; and just because…….
