Gallery, Studio and Life: 55, Know When to Fold Them

I bet you know the lyrics to Kenny Roger’s song “The Gambler”.

You’ve got to know when to hold ’em (when to hold ’em)
Know when to fold ’em (when to fold ’em)
Know when to walk away
And know when to run

Our first two days at Clay Kitchen Portugal was filled with making several different cup shapes.  Then, different types of handles on those forms that were not my “go-to” shape.  Our homework assignment was to watch a video of Takeshi Yasuda by Goldmark.TV.  With my breakfast, I am watching the video.  Did you know that it will take a potter more than 7 years or 10,000 hours to know how to make ok cups and handles?  Not great, but ok.  Have a look at your collection of handmade cups and see what you think.  If you don’t have a collection of handmade pottery cups, why don’t you?

What do you love?  I love trees, the color orange, and the clay life.  You only have one life.  Time for me to get moving.  Take care, C2
