I have been thinking about creativity. My work and the artwork around me in the gallery. I received video by the Honda Company that I thought was very creative. It shows the history of their company in an interesting manner. You might be able to find it if you google it.
Tomorrow we open a new exhibit by Abbey Fitzpatrick. The show is titled “Fun and Nonsense”. Abbey and I began talking this winter. I visited her studio. We talked about encaustics, which are on display also. At the time, I didn’t get her sense of play. I am thrilled to be able to live with her work for the month of July.
Abbey’s story about the Royal Family is this: “These are the only remaining members of the ancient Wurzburg family. They are distantly related to the Hapsburgs of Austria and were held in high regard till 1701 when the eldest daughter eloped with a Von Schmuckel (from the wrong side of the moat – a rival family). This sparked a steady decline of fortune and fertility over the centuries and now there are only 5.”
As you can see, this show is varied and fun. Please stop in to see Abbey’s work and all of other talented Michigan artists.
