Life, Gallery and Studio Musings, 20: Love this gal’s energy

Another week has passed. I am taking February to think about the gallery and my clay work.  It’s been a good quiet time.  Do you find the snow lovely?  I do.  When, I look out my living room window seeing the tall lodge pole pines swaying with white snow, it is truly lovely.  I do love walking in it if I am dressed appropriately – hat, mittens, smartwool socks, snowpants, etc. Walking our Lake Michigan waterfront is beautiful in the winter too.

(Thank you Bob Walma for hiking in the cold and capturing this image.)

But, I also find the Arizona dusk lovely.  Big cloudless skies, almost always blue during the day.  Such a contrast.

I continue to wrestle with how do I spend my time; how would I like to spend my time; and what do I need to change.  Have you started a workout routine?  I hear of friends walking for hours with their dogs or listening to podcasts.  I continue to limit my exposure to the possibility of catching Covid.  So, I signed up for Beach Body on Demand. I have no illusion about my body. I am 60 years old.  The classes are getting me up and moving in a low impact way.  I am taking a Barre Blend class.  I find myself laughing out loud at how silly I must look.  I took ballet as a child.  How in the world did I ever turn my legs out to those positions or lift my leg that high?  It seems impossible to me now.  But, I am doing it.  Day 8.  Hopefully, there will be a Day 9.

On another note:  Check out the energy of this gal in her TedTalk 2018:

Amanda Gorman 2018

“Let the globe, if nothing else, say this is true: that even as we grieved, we grew, even as we hurt, we hoped, that even as we tired, we tried, that we’ll forever be tied together victorious, not because we will never again know defeat but because we will never again sow division.”

(quote from Amanda Gorman’s inauguration speech)

Baking at all?  Joy, A gal that I follow shared these cookies.  She has been keeping them in the refrigerator as a treat.  They are dairy, gluten, and processed sugar free.  They sound yummy.  If you make them, let me and Joy know.  Take a picture and share on instagram.  Tag: #c2cgallery #joythebaker

Ideas that I am working on:  Time passages.   How do we spend our time?  We all have seven days in a week?  The moon continues to move through the sky.  Water and sand movement at all times of the year.

Quote for the day:  “If you are not falling down, you are probably not doing anything interesting.” Barre Blend instructor, Elise Joan.
