Looking Back and Remembering – Julie Devers. We have been making plans for our anniversary party next weekend, June 7. Sarah has been communicating with our artists, asking for a little known fact about them for us to share on Friday evening. I have been thinking back about the artists who have been with me from the beginning.
Julie Devers is one of those people. I first met Julie at an art show in Grand Haven’s central park. I loved her pottery immediately. Of course, I had to buy several pieces. I purchased a huge platter with a matching bowl and covered butter dish. See, when you find something handmade that you love, you will always remember the day, and smile each time that you use it (which I do). Here are the pieces that I am talking about:
You can visit Julie’s artist page on our website for more information. We created a video of a conversation that we had between her and I with regard to her philosophy on making great functional pottery. Stop in to see this potter’s current work. We have both wood fired and gas fired pottery by Julie. We are thankful for the talents of this artist and who she is as a person. Take care, C2 .
