Need something “Feel good”? This time of the year is always interesting. For many of us, it can be exhausting, yet fun. I like to start thinking about next year’s plans for my personal and business life. I try hard to not go into my studio. Many days, I am itching to get my hands in clay and start making.

The end of each December, I make an attempt at slowing down, thinking about the past year, and making plans for the upcoming year. This morning in The NY Times, they shared favorite articles by someone on their staff. Check out this feel good article:

I would love to reach the end of my life doing something wonderful like this for a much larger group of humans on this earth. Back to reality, and 2019. Earlier in December, I mentioned how I am always drawn to sculptural clay work rather than functional. If you were to visit my home, you would find lots of functional pottery. But, I absolutely love ceramic sculpture both big and small. Have you looked at Mark Chatterley’s work? I have no desire to make work of this scale. However, I do love his art.

Each morning, I begin my day the same way. I know boring! Coffee; journaling; homemade granola and yogurt with blueberries; workout; and shower. Then, I start my day. For years, I have followed a creative writer by the name of Lisa Sonora Beam. You can google her. I am going to start a new journal and work through her book, “The Creative Entrepreneur”. I have been putting this effort off for four years. 2019, is the year to get busy.

What are you up to this week? Do you have any plans for 2019? I would love to hear. Cheers, C.
