You will choose your Word for the Year; and create an intuitive collage painting and a stamped bracelet displaying your word.

Lose the long list of New Year’s Resolutions. Drop the sweeping promises to change this or that, trash the concrete goals that involve either failure or success…. and do something about ONE thing rather than nothing about a bunch of things…

This is the essence of identifying ONE word as a guide for your year. Choosing one word is all about choosing to live with intention and purpose. Your one word can serve as a guide, a compass, or a mantra, and can provide focus and direction, clarity and
power, mission and meaning.

Join this art workshop and create a canvas with your word for 2020! We’ll be using acrylic paint, collage techniques, stencils, printing and stamping. All materials will be provided but you may bring any collage items you wish to use. You’ll also be creating a bracelet that displays your word.

When you register for this workshop and provide your email address, You will be sent some guidelines to help you choose your word for 2020. This process can also be done the night of the workshop, but choosing ahead of time allows for more time to plan your canvas and paint!

About the Artist:
Denise LeClaire is an award-winning artist and a psychologist in Grand Haven Michigan. Working in collage, photography and intuitive painting, she believes wholeheartedly in the power of both words and art, particularly when used together, and thinks that the deliberate use of positive language and personal symbolism can literally change your brain and how you think and feel. She often uses words and other forms of language and symbols in her artwork. She has chosen a guiding word every year since 2013.
