Jeff Ham grew up on a 110-year-old family produce farm just outside of Grand Rapids, MI. He spent his youth slinging sweet corn and watermelon at local Farmer’s Markets, where the experience of food and community made a lasting impression on how he views the world. A few years ago he took his first pottery class, where he fell in love with the plasticity and sensuality of the material, and marveled at the way beautiful, functional vessels can heighten and transform home spaces and personal experiences. He’s been making pots ever since and took the leap into full-time makerdom in April 2017. He works out of both a 30-member community studio in Grand Rapids (for the fine company), and out of a converted pole-barn on his family farm.
