“After practicing medicine for over 30 years my time serving those in need had come to an end.
After practicing radiology I retired in 2014 and as so many of us do began something that I have loved for decades but didn’t have time to do.
I learned to throw clay on the wheel at sixteen. After a career using my head, I rediscovered the joy of using my hands, and the possibility that something beautiful could be created from something as humble as clay.
I reconnected with the same person, Howard Wilder, who initially introduced me to the wheel forty years earlier, who now showed me the process of Raku.
At home I have a studio where I throw, /create these timeless shapes. I have been experimenting with form and the many possibilities the Raku process offers with my new found time. I feel fortunate to have found an endeavor so satisfying.”
We at C2C Gallery feel fortunate to offer these wonderful Raku Vases.
