Edge of the Bend
After visiting a friend in Prescott Valley, Liz and I began our trek through the American Southwest in Page, Arizona. The weather did not cooperate and it took several attempts before we captured this image of Horseshoe Bend at sunrise. This section of the Colorado River is part of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, which borders the Navajo Nation. Unlike several stretches along the Grand Canyon, there are no safety railings and it is a 1,000 foot drop to the riverbed. Due to its scale, this image is actually eight shots stitched together.
