Shoreline Light Mug — Lake Michigan Blue & Sunset

Inspired by the colors and textures of the Lake Michigan shoreline, this one-of-a-kind ceramic mug brings together water, sand, birds, and the setting sun.

Soft Lake Michigan blue wraps the upper portion and interior of the mug, while my Lake Michigan Beach Sand glaze creates the warm, textured surface below. An orange sun and small birds appear on one side, adding details that reveal themselves as the mug is turned in your hands.

The handle becomes another place to look closely. Its raised textures suggest water movement, stones, and the marks left behind along the shoreline, with a small spiral detail at the top.

Even the bottom holds a surprise—a trail of tiny bird tracks and my spiral maker’s mark.

Handmade in my Grand Haven, Michigan studio, each Shoreline Light mug is individually made. Variations in glaze, texture, and the Lake Michigan sand make each one unique.
