Description
Lake Michigan Ceramic Vase with Beach Glass, Black Sand & Sunset | Shoreline Structure Vase II
The shoreline is always changing. Wind, waves, and time leave behind subtle textures, shifting colors, and unexpected treasures. Shoreline Structure Vase II is my interpretation of those fleeting moments along Lake Michigan.
Hand-built from porcelain, this one-of-a-kind vase incorporates actual Lake Michigan black sand and my Lake Michigan beach sand glaze, creating a richly textured surface that echoes the meeting of water and shore. Pieces of found Lake Michigan beach glass have melted into the clay during firing, becoming luminous pockets of color embedded within the landscape.
A warm setting sun glows near the rim while small birds move across the sky, suggesting the quiet rhythm of an evening walk along the beach. Every side reveals something different, inviting the viewer to slow down and discover the details.
Both sculptural and functional, Shoreline Structure Vase II is designed to hold fresh flowers, dried botanicals, or simply stand on its own as a reminder of the beauty found along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
