Description
Singapore Series I
Inspired by the story of Singapore, Michigan—a once-thriving lumber town gradually reclaimed by the shifting dunes along Lake Michigan—this sculptural porcelain vessel explores the relationship between people, place, and the changing landscape.
A small hand-built house emerges from forms inspired by wind-shaped dunes, suggesting both shelter and vulnerability. Like the Lake Michigan shoreline itself, the piece reflects the quiet but constant forces of nature and the passage of time.
Each sculpture is individually hand built from porcelain and is one of a kind. While rooted in the history of Singapore, Michigan, the work invites us to reflect on the landscapes we shape, the stories they hold, and the enduring power of nature.
