Such a fun trip out West! A long drive made interesting by seeing a mountain or road sign that made us say “Hey, google, what is…..?” Then, causing more conversation.

Just outside of Phoenix, in the distance was an interesting looking structure. Why is there such a large building in the middle of all this open land? It was a non profit, Arcosanti, focused on architecture, ecology and living frugally. Pretty interesting. The architect has passed but his legacy continues. You can stay there overnight and take courses.

Then, on to the Meteor Crater. This was more interesting than I thought. The impact occurred over 50,000 years ago. Located outside of Winslow, Arizona. It’s called one of the best preserved meteorite craters in the world. It’s worth the stop.

Then, today we saw a Car Henge made of old Cadillacs.

I have been doing so well with working out, while visiting family. Right now, this road trip makes me feel sluggish sitting all day. We have lots of good food packed: blueberries, apples, grapes, cherry tomatoes, homemade granola, cheese, luna bars, water, hard-boiled eggs, almonds and cashews. But, I still feel as though I am loosing all that I have gained fitness-wise while gone. I suggested a walk last night when we arrived in Albuquerque but it was cold. Not as cold as Michigan but cold. We woke to seeing the mountains and hot air balloons. Something I don’t see at home in our lodge pole pines.

So, since, I am not doing all that well with eating, we might as well splurge with a yummy chocolate cookie recipe that is baked in a cast iron skillet. I have attached the link. The reviews make it sound really worth the calories. I will let you know if we make it when we get home. Please let me know if you do, send a picture to @c2cgallery on Instagram. Thank you in advance if you do.

We made it Oklahoma City staying in the Bricktown area. It seems to be an interesting area. Lots of snow and there is a food shortage here. So, no yogurt and blueberries for me this morning. A good thing I have hard boiled eggs, almonds and fruit of our own. Time to head a bit East and North. Onto Illinois today.

Take good care, C2.
