Looking Closely: I write about the things that make me stop and pay attention—ceramics, artists, the Lake Michigan shoreline, travel, food, and the everyday details that inspire my work. Looking Closely has become a thread connecting many of these stories. It is about slowing down, noticing what we might otherwise walk past, and asking what we can learn when we take the time to really see. Along the way, I share stories from my studio, visits with other artists, places that inspire me, and a few favorite recipes from my kitchen. I hope you'll find something here that makes you look a little more closely, too.
