Each Wednesday, I host a Pop Up Artist Show featuring one of our artists. I started these events so that you could more easily see each piece of art in a home-like atmosphere. This week’s featured artist is Cory McCrory.
It’s like show and tell at the dining room table. Plus, we just received two boxes from Cory of new work. Sarah had a lot of fun (It’s like Christmas) unwrapping the pottery pieces.
Cory was a traditional pottery throwing on a potter’s wheel. She made mugs, bowls, plates, serving pieces and more. Selling them at regional shows. About 10 years ago, she started playing in paper-clay. With concern about the environment, she decided that hand building with paper clay was a way to combine her love of making with recycling. Cory shreds McDonalds’ cup holders into paper pulp adding it to her clay body. Then, the magic begins. Cory designs templates to make interesting teapots, salt and pepper holders, pitchers, mugs, trays, and wall tiles.
Please take a few minutes to watch me pick up several of her currently available pieces. I show you how they fit in my hand, plus what the sides and bottom look like.

Thank you for watching our show. If you have questions about a piece that you saw, please email or call us at 616.935.7337. We will answer any questions that you may have with regard to this fun pottery.
Take good care, C2.
