Handmade Lake Michigan Ceramics
I create one-of-a-kind ceramic mugs, bowls, vases, serving pieces, and sculptural vessels inspired by the Lake Michigan shoreline.
The colors, textures, and small details I notice along the water eventually find their way into my work—lines left in the sand, bird tracks, changing light, water movement, and the colors of the lake and sky.
Many pieces also include Lake Michigan beach sand in the glaze, bringing a small part of the shoreline physically into the finished work.
Each piece is handmade individually in my Grand Haven, Michigan studio.

Made to Be Used
I believe art belongs in our everyday lives.
A handmade mug becomes part of a morning ritual. A bowl finds its place at the center of the table. A vase changes as flowers come and go. A sculptural vessel may simply invite you to stop for a moment and look more closely.
My work isn’t meant to reproduce Lake Michigan. Instead, I bring the things I notice along the shoreline back to the studio and allow them to become something new in clay.

A Handmade Gift
Sending a handmade gift is always a good idea.
Each piece from C2C Gallery is individually made and carries the marks of the hand that created it. If you are sending a piece directly to someone as a gift, I am happy to include your personal message.
And if you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for, please contact me. There are often new pieces in the studio that haven’t made it to the website yet.
If you have questions or are looking for specific piece of artwork, please call me at 616-843-0870 or email me. It is very possible that I have pieces available that I haven’t had time to upload to this website.

“I just received the Julie Devers wood-fired platter.
It is absolutely beautiful as is the Richard Aerni pitcher I ordered earlier. I am a potter purchasing from artists whose work I respect and admire.
I am no longer working in order to care for my husband who is disabled. I am yearning to live with and use beautiful functional work. Thank you for adding so much to my life with these pieces. I appreciate the artistry, craftsmanship, and firing processes used. Thank you also Sarah for the personal note. Happy Holidays to all.” – Virginia D.
“My husband and I make a yearly stop at this gallery whenever we come to town to visit family. There is a great diversity of styles and mediums from top-notch artists. The variety of price points makes it hard to not bring something home with you! It really is a MUST on your Grand Haven Visit.” – Gina E.
“Love having this art gallery in our downtown of Grand Haven. The art varies from sculptures to scarves, paintings to pottery, photos to fiber, collages to candles; with each producing its own experience to the viewer. The presentation of the art does each one its justice and I leave there wishing I could have it all in my home. Wow, C2C Gallery, thank you!” – Patrick F.
“Wonderful gallery right in the heart of downtown Grand Haven. Always so welcoming and friendly and their support of local artists is amazing. Wide variety of art from ceramics to glass to acrylic paintings and most everything in between. We always find something we like and visit every time we’re in GH. Love this place.” – M. Poole
